BAJFC are pleased to announce that attacking midfielder Paul McLellan has signed a two-year deal to keep him at the club until the summer of 2019.
Negotiations had been underway behind the scenes for a few weeks as Paul’s contract was due to expire this summer and Fed manager Keith Gibson was very keen to keep his best players at the club and Paul has become the first of potentially three if not four players to stay on at the club come the end of the season.
Paul, pictured left, is no stranger to Whitton Park having joined back in July 2015 from senior side Forfar Athletic. He helped guide the Fed from the Premier League via the play-off win, scoring in the first leg defeat to Armadale Thistle at Whitton Park to scoring one of the crucial penalties in the shootout to promote Broughty up to the Super League. Then Paul was instrumental in help guiding his side to Super League safety last season, finishing tenth in their maiden season, and he had no hesitation in re-signing for the Fed.
Broughty manager Keith Gibson said on his latest capture “I’m very delighted to have Paul staying at the club for another two years. He’s vital in our future plans for the club on the park. On his day he can waltz past the opposition players for fun and has great pace and vision about him. Paul wants to play top football and that’s our aim here at Broughty, to be a top club so we are delighted he’s staying with us. Hopefully, we’ll have more news on another couple of signings this or next week..”
All at BAJFC would like to wish Paul all the best in his future two years at the club.
