Broughty Athletic secured their first win in the East Region Super League, defeating near neighbours Carnoustie Panmure 5-1 at Whitton Park tonight.
Despite going behind as early as the tenth minute, Broughty fought back and levelled courtesy of Jake Mair midway through the first half. Then a double from Stuart McConnachie put The Fed in control before the visitors were reduced to ten men minutes before halftime. Then to wrap up a fine first half Jamie Winter slammed home Broughty’s fourth.
Second half was just as entertaining but just the single goal was scored and it was Broughty’s Paul McLellan that rounded off the scoring for the night with Broughty’s fifth and final goal infront of a bumper crowd at Whitton Park.
