Following the sale of goalkeeper Iain Ross to senior side Elgin City, BAJFC manager Jim Finlayson has moved quickly to sign another keeper, bringing in Duncan ‘Chris’ McPherson until the end of the season.

Chris, as he is better known as, was recently with local side Lochee Harp as assistant manager and goalkeeping coach until the manager made his move for him following the contact from Elgin City to sign Iain Ross before Christmas.

Chris had a brief spell at the Fed previously back in 2011 for one season before going on to play for Carnoustie Panmure in the Super League the following five seasons. A year was taken out following his time at Panmure to help with his rehabilitation following surgery on a back injury. Chris now goes straight into the squad to compete with Broughty’s other goalkeeper John Sinclair who has made five appearances this season so far.

Speaking to Chris he had this to say to the BAJFC Website Admin team on signing for the Fed

“I’m delighted to be joining Broughty Athletic and given another chance at playing, especially back in the Super League. On the flip side, I’m gutted to be leaving the Harp and all the lads that are there. They are a good bunch to work with and I’d like to take this opportunity to wish them all the very best for the rest of the season ahead. I’m looking forward now to competing for the number one jersey and helping Broughty for the rest of the season ahead..”

All at BAJFC welcome Chris to the club and wish him all the very best during his time here at the club.
