Broughty Athletic will feel hard done by as a second-half fightback by Bo’ness United saw the sides take a point each after a 3-3 draw at Newtown Park in the Super League.
Back into the side came goalkeeper Iain Ross who missed last weeks win over Sauchie and defender Jamie McCunnie who’s sat out recent weeks with a rib injury.
The Fed went behind in the 10th minute but equalised two minutes later when Graham Hay headered home. The Fed then scored two further goals courtesy of Brian Clark and striker Kevin Milne to take into halftime a 3-1 lead.
But Bo’ness have been battling back in recent weeks and it came again in the second half, with two goals to level the score at 3-3 with the equaliser coming five minutes from time. Broughty’s Ryan Blair was sent off for a second bookable offence also in the second half, his second sending off this season.
The draw sees Jim Finlayson’s men extend their recent run to three games unbeaten in the league, taking five points from a possible nine on offer and stay in sixth position in the league table. The Fed take a break from league football next week when they travel across the Tay to face Tayport in the first round of the GA Engineering Cup at The Canniepairt.
