Broughty Athletic welcome North Division side Brechin Vics to Whitton Park this Saturday in the 2nd round of the DJ Laing sponsored East of Scotland Cup.

Having defeated Musselburgh Athletic 3-1 back in early September, with goals from Lee Sibanda, Byran Duell and Stuart McConnachie, Broughty were rewarded with a home tie against Brechin Vics. Both sides were paired against each other a couple of weeks ago, drawing 0-0 in the preliminary round of the GA Engineering cup. Despite a fantastic performance from The Vics, Broughty progressed into the first round, to face Tayport, 5-4 after a penalty shoot-out.

As shown in the previous game between the sides, The Vics will be no easy pushover come Saturday for The Fed, and Fed manager Keith Gibson will be telling his side this. Last Saturday Vics narrowly went out of the Scottish Junior Cup. losing 2-1 at home to fellow Super League side and current league leaders Penicuik Athletic. So a hard-fought game is in store for all at Whitton Park for a place in the third round.

Missing for Broughty this Saturday are Jamie Sime and Jake Mair as both recover from injuries. Also missing is Barry Myles, on loan at Dundee North End.

All fans are reminded this game is a 2pm kick-off at Whitton Park. Should the game end in a draw after 90 minutes then a penalty shoot-out will determine who enters the hat for the third round draw.
