Broughty Athletic will be looking to stretch their unbeaten start to the new Super League season this Saturday when they travel to face the current Super League champions Bonnyrigg Rose at New Dundas Park.

With three wins and a draw under their belts from the opening four league fixtures, Keith Gibson’s side find themselves sitting second top of the league table, just two points behind league leaders Kelty Hearts. Wednesday night saw the Fed romp to a 4-0 over near local rivals Carnoustie Panmure with Ross McCord, Brian Clark, Danny Cavanagh and James Yates, pictured below, all getting on the scoresheet.

DSC_0524 (3)Hosts Bonnyrigg currently sit in sixth position, with two wins over Penicuik Athletic and Newtongrange Star, and a defeat on the opening day of the season at home to Kelty Hearts. Their fourth game against Camelon was postponed.

Previous scorelines between both sides saw Bonnyrigg do the double over Broughty, winning home and away last season, 3-0 at New Dundas Park despite the sides going in level at halftime and 2-1 at Whitton Park in a game where Broughty were more than matching their opposition and had taken an early lead in the game.

Broughty will go into the game with no new injury worries with only Grant Lawson missing out. A full strength team will be available to choose from for the manager, but a headache will be who starts and who takes a seat on the bench after such a great team start to the season.

All fans are reminded this game is a 2-30pm kick off at New Dundas Park, home of Bonnyrigg Rose.
