Broughty Athletic, fresh off their 1-0 midweek win over Tayport courtesy of a Jamie Winter free-kick goal, travel to face three-time Super League Winners in 2010, 2011 and 2014, Boness United in the Super League this Saturday, looking for that all-important one point to guarantee Super League status for next season.

DSC_0743 (3)So far only Tayport and Sauchie are guaranteed to finish below the Fed as the season draws near to a finish, with Carnoustie, Camelon and Fauldhouse United fighting it out to survive in the Super League.

Hosts Boness currently sit second top of the league and Saturday’s game at home against Broughty will be their final Super League game of the season. Their last three games have seen them defeat Tayport 3-0 and Camelon 1-0, both away from home, but suffer a 2-0 home defeat to Newtongrange Star so they will be looking to sign off their league season with a win.

The sides last met late September 2015 with Broughty suffering a 3-0 home defeat at Whitton Park.

Broughty go into the game with another couple of injuries following their recent win over Tayport and late fitness tests will be carried out to determine whether near full squad travel through to Newtown Park.

All fans are reminded this game is a 2-30pm kick off at Newtown Park, home of Boness United.
