Broughty Athletic welcome former three-time Super League champions Bo’ness United to Whitton Park on Saturday in a game the Fed must take the points and stop their current unwanted losing streak.
The Fed last won a Super League fixture back on 11th November, a 2-1 win away to Sauchie, and have lost their last three fixtures to Broxburn Athletic, Dundonald Bluebell, Carnoustie Panmure since then.
Visitors Bo’ness currently sit in the tenth spot in the league table, three places below the Fed and trail by five points but do happen to have three games in hand over the Whitton Park side so its vital for a home win come Saturday. Their previous league fixture saw them win 1-0 at home to Camelon mid-January. On Saturday they recorded a great 3-0 away win at Rutherglen Glencairn in the Scottish Junior Cup and will be more than ready for their visit here.
The sides have already met this season at Newtown Park in a pulsating 3-3 draw. Despite going behind early on in the game the Fed took a 3-1 lead in at halftime with goals from Graham Hay, pictured left, Brian Clark and Kevin Milne. But the home side battled back in the second half and equalised in the dying minutes of the game. Broughty’s Ryan Blair was sent off during the game for two bookable offences.
Broughty go into the game with no fresh injury worries and interim manager Jamie McCunnie will have a full squad to choose from as his side search for points on the board.
All fans are reminded this game is a 2pm kick off at Whitton Park. Admission prices are £6 Adults and £3 OAP/Kids. For those fans wishing a bite to eat, the ‘Broughty Pie Shop’ will be in operation before and during the game selling their award-winning Steak & Gravy pies amongst others…
