Broughty Athletic welcome three-time Super League champions Bo’ness United to Whitton Park this Saturday in a league encounter.
The Fed will be looking to build on their recent 2-0 EOS Cup win over South Division side Lochgelly Albert Saturday past but a hard task is ahead of them when the Newtown Park side come calling, they are fresh off a 7-0 thumping of bottom of the league side Fauldhouse United.
Visitors Bo’ness currently occupy the second position in the Super League behind Kelty Hearts, four places above Broughty with eleven points more gained but having played a game more than the Fed. Their previous three league fixtures have seen them score 13 goals with only two conceded, with home wins over Fauldhouse United 7-0, 5-1 over Jeanfield Swifts and a 1-1 draw away to Penicuik Athletic. They previously won the Super League in 2010, 2011 and 2014.
Broughty are fresh off their 2-0 win against Lochgelly Albert with goals from Kevin Buchan and James Collier (pictured). The Fed, like last Saturday’s game, still have some injury doubts this Saturday but hopefully one or two of them can make the bench.
The previous scoreline between the sides this season saw Bo’ness take the three points in a 3-0 win at Newtown Park back in November 2016. Last season both sides secured a victory away from home, Bo’ness winning 3-0 at Whitton Park and Broughty winning the return fixture 1-0 at Newtown Park.
All fans are reminded this game is a 2-30pm kick off at Whitton Park. Admission prices are £6 for Adults and £3 for OAP/Kids. For those wishing a bite to eat, the Broughty Pie Shop will be in operation before and during the match serving up hot pies & sausage rolls supplied by GRANTS BUTCHERS, Blackness Road, Dundee…
