Broughty Athletic secured their third win on the trot with a comfortable 2-0 home win over visitors Dundee Violet and gaffer Jamie McCunnie was yet again pleased with the performance but is looking for more goals from his side. Read below what he had to say…

“We got off to the perfect start on Saturday by going one up inside the very first minute. Jamie Reid (pictured) reacted quickly to a second ball and played Josh Skelly through and he put us ahead with a great finish.

Throughout the game, I thought we had a lot of possession and on another day could have added to our first-half lead and made it a bit more convincing but we didn’t.

However, we played well in the second half again, we then went two goals up courtesy of a penalty after a pull in the box gave Josh the chance to add to his first. He made no mistake with the penalty kick and from then on we played some good football and should have made it three late on in the game, but I thought their keeper made a few really good saves.

We now have one more game left before Xmas, so we need to concentrate this week in training, work hard then hopefully finish, what has been a hard year for everyone, with a big three points against Forfar West End at their place…”
