Broughty Athletic welcome Phil McGuire’s St Andrews United to Whitton Park this Saturday in the Super League.
Fed manager Keith Gibson will be hoping his side can capitalize on last Saturdays excellent 4-2 away win at Tayport and boost their league position with another three points on the board. But as the stats show, Broughty have failed to win back to back victories this season but hopefully come Saturday that will change. With midfielder Jake Mair back from a recent shoulder injury, making a brief substitution appearance last Saturday at Tayport, Broughty will be at near full strength for the visit with only defender Barry Myles still on loan at Dundee North End.
The previous scoreline between the sides this season saw Broughty come home with the three points following a thumping 5-0 win in Fife, with goals from Jake Mair, Grant Lawson, Bryan Duell and a Stuart McConnachie, pictured below, double.
Visitors St Andrews are managed by former Aberdeen, Dunfermline, and Inverness Caley player Phil McGuire, who also had brief spells in the juniors, playing for Jeanfield Swifts. His side are currently on a baron run, having not won a league game in their last eight, with two being drawn against Hill of Beath and Sauchie, with six losses. They sit second bottom of the league, four points ahead of bottom side Tayport and three points behind Broughty but having played a game extra, so a win for The Fed would pull them away from the bottom zone.
All fans are reminded this game is a 1-45pm at Whitton Park. Admission prices are £5 for Adults and £2 for OAPs/Kids.
