Broughty Athletic JFC can officially announce that manager Jim Finlayson has left his position as manager at the club following Saturdays 3-1 home defeat to Dundonald Bluebell.

After a turbulent start to the season, with the previous management team quitting the club pre-season, Jim was appointed manager mid-September after Fed defender Jamie McCunnie stepped in to take over team matters in the interim. The Fed crashed out of the Scottish Junior Cup and were also knocked out of the GA Engineering Cup, as holders, by Tayport, leaving only the Super League to compete in for the remainder of the season. A home defeat from local rivals Carnoustie Panmure two weeks ago followed by Saturdays 3-1 home loss signalled Jim’s intentions to leave his post with immediate effect. Also leaving their positions will be the whole back room staff he brought with him, including assistant manager Jimmy Glass.

All at BAJFC would like to take this opportunity to thank Jim and his staff for their time and wish them all the very best for the future.

Further news on a replacement/interim manager will follow in due course…
