Broughty Athletic interim manager Jamie McCunnie gives us his thoughts on Saturday’s 4-1 home win over former three times Super League champions Bo’ness United at Whitton Park. Read below what Jamie had to say following the win…

“Overall I’m delighted with the win over Bo’ness and gaining the three points on Saturday as I felt it was well deserved for us. I thought the boys from our keeper right through to our striker fought hard for the win, stood up to the physical challenge of the game, then produced some moments of quality to score four good goals, especially the second one from young Derryn Kesson (pictured) to make it 2-0.

We knew we would be in for a tough game Saturday as Bo’ness are still in the Scottish Junior Cup and had an impressive 3-0 win away to Rutherglen Glencairn last week and that showed us we had to be up for their arrival on Saturday, and we were. We asked the players to dig deep and they did all over the park, especially as they had to play almost half an hour with ten men following my second yellow card and subsequent sending off.

Now we look forward to next weekend, we have a really tough trip away to Camelon on the cards who also had a very impressive 6-0 away win at Kennoway Star Hearts on Saturday so they will be on a high come next Saturday when we visit. We will train hard once again this week and prepare for the game. We still need a few more points on the board and we’ll be looking to get them at Carmuirs Park…”

The Fed face eighth-placed Camelon at Carmuirs Park in the Super League with kick off scheduled for 2-30pm.
