Broughty Athletic suffered their first loss the Super League going down 2-1 away to Broxburn Athletic at Albyn Park today, in a game that kicked off thirty minutes late due to the travelling team bus being held up in roadworks heading to Broxburn.
It was The Fed that went in at halftime 1-0 to the good courtesy of a Jamie Winter through ball which found Grant Lawson who slotted home as Fed keeper Iain Ross saved well and kept Broxburn from scoring on a couple of occasions. H/T 0-1
The second half was much of the same with Ross saving well from a Broxburn 30yrd free-kick. The points were all but in the bag for The Fed until the final five minutes when two headed goals put the home side ahead 2-1. Despite Lee Sibanda hitting the crossbar, Paul McLellan hitting the post and a Barry Myles effort cleared off the line in the dying moments of the game, The Fed left Treaton Park with nothing.
Next up for Broughty Athletic is a short trip to St Andrews on Wednesday in the league.
