Broughty Athletic midfielder Jake Mair, who was taken off during Saturdays 2-0 defeat away to Kelty Hearts, isn’t injured as bad as first thought by the club following the challenge that left him in a heap. Jake and his opposition player went in for a header, but Jake was taken out and landed badly on the surface in pain. Initial thoughts and diagnosis were he had possibly broken/fractured his collar bone and was taken to hospital for checks.
Despite the pain and soreness, we are pleased to report Jake has not done any real damage as in a fracture or a break to his left side shoulder/neck area and will back training later this week when ready. Once again BAJFC thank medical officials at Kelty Hearts for their attention to Jake during their own players injury, defender Sean O’Neil breaking his leg seconds after Jake’s incident.
