Broughty Athletic went down 4-2 in their arranged friendly against local side Downfield Juniors tonight at the GA Arena.

The side’s went in at halftime 1-1 after Downfield had taken the lead courtesy of a Jay Smart own goal from a swung in free-kick, only for Stewart McConnachie to level with a header from a corner. 

With several changes made for the second half, it was The Fed that took the lead courtesy of a Bryan Duell goal. Then with the scores level at 2-2, Broughty were reduced to nine men after two players had to go off and no substitutes were available to replace them. Then to add insult to injury, Downfield scored twice in the last minutes of the game to seal the win 4-2.
